What’s the Story – Morning Glory: Together we find ways to improve the topic of your story and develop pitches editors cannot resist. You will learn how to craft attention-grabbing pitch notices, how to follow them up with proposals that editors feel forced to read, how to win responses from the most hard-to-reach gatekeepers in our profession.

****

No matter how good your story may be, it is worthless gathering dust, left unknown to the news-consuming public. Editors are overwhelmed by an endless onslaught of material. Often even reporters and writers with staff positions experience difficulty gaining the attention of their bosses. This workshop helps you develop the sales tools you need to hone your elevator pitch, to pass your passion for your work on to managers in positions to assign it, buy it and – most important – publish it, post it, broadcast it.

Learn how to craft attention-grabbing pitch notices, how to follow them up with proposals that editors feel forced to read, how to win responses from the most hard-to-reach gatekeepers in our profession and how to break into global news marketplaces.

After your two afternoons immersed with a small group of similarly motivated colleagues in „What’s the Story, Morning Glory,“ you’ll be keenly aware of this reality: There are no slow news days, only slow news reporters. And you’ll be equipped with tools to help your work stay in the journalism fast lane during one of the most competitive eras of our profession’s history.
