From research to fact checking: Tips for enhancing digital journalism with Google Tools.

This workshop, held in cooperation with Google News Initiative and fjum, will teach the editorial use of digital tools such as advanced Google search, trends, maps, my maps and flourish for research and storytelling.

Participants will also gain insights into Google’s privacy and security tools by looking at Google Account, 2-factor authentication and security keys.

Isa Sonnenfeld (News Lab Lead at Google for Austria, Germany and Switzerland) and Peter Berger (Google-certified trainer at fjum) show the range of tools and their practical use cases in an intensive hands-on workshop.

How to prepare for the workshop:

Please bring your own internet-enabled laptop!
In addition, the participants may please install Google Earth Pro and Google Chrome in advance.
(Note: Please do NOT download the programs needed at the seminar location – this may overstrain the Wlan capacities on site if all participants downloaded at the same time!)
