Beim Media Innovation Day 2016 betrachten wir die wichtigsten Entwicklungen in Virtual Reality und erarbeiten gemeinsam mit nationalen und internationalen ExpertInnen, wie Virtual Reality und 360° Videos die journalistische Arbeit bereichern und verändern können. Gemeinsam erproben wir Tools und Programme und erörtern, wie wir sie in der Praxis einsetzen.

Über den Media Innovation Day

Der Media Innovation Day ist eine internationale Medienkonferenz in Wien.
Konferenzsprachen sind Deutsch und Englisch.

Das Programm des Media Innovation Day 2016 wird von Daniela Kraus, Gunther Müller, Lidiia Akryshora, Rosa von Suess, Siegfried Steinlechner, und Andreas Perotti kuratiert.

is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice at USC Annenberg, but he’s not an academic… He’s more of a “hackademic” and specializes in “MacGyvering” Web journalism solutions. He has worked for seattletimes.com, SFGate.com, eXaminer.com, La Prensa Gráfica, among others. His most recent work includes Augmented Reality, Wearables/Google Glass and Virtual Reality — he and his students produce VR experiences under their brand: Jovrnalism. He is the recipient of SPJ’s 2015 Distinguished Teaching in Journalism Award.

LoïcSuty1Loïc Suty is Director at Turbulent. He has always been fascinated by the possibilities of conceptual, creative and narrative innovations in the digital world. He has directed The Unknown Photographer (2015), a VR experience about WWII. As a music enthusiast, he has worked as a Web editor in a music research lab and as a Web Marketing Manager for a big indie label in France. He has also created sound installations and composed music pieces for theatre and documentaries.

Andrea Fronaschütz is Chief Operating Officer and partner of Österreichisches Gallup Institut which was founded as the first market and opinion research institute in Austria in 1949. Before joining Gallup, she worked for various companies with a strong orientation on marketing, holding international positions across Europe in sectors as diverse as FMCG, the automotive industry and the retail business.

Marcus has worked as journalist with Deutsche Welle, Germanys International Broadcaster, also has trained a lot of journalists in the art of mobile reporting and has organised several Hackathons on Newsgames and VR Journalism.

Stephan GenschStephan Gensch is a Co-Founder of Berlin startup VRagments Virtual Reality Studio, where he is Head of Product Development. His primary focus is on the development of software products that enable journalists to easily create intriguing VR stories. He also leads VR projects for customers from media, education and industry sectors on multiple platforms.

Since 2015, Chainon has been producing 360 video documentaries including co-productions with Immersiv.ly.
