The Global Editors Network needs you!
When? 21-23 June 2017
Where? Aula der Wissenschaften, Vienna
Are you interested in the media, and want to learn more about the running of a large-scale event? We are looking for 18 enthusiastic students or recent graduates, to volunteer throughout our annual event: the GEN Summit.
The GEN Summit is the world’s largest gathering of 750+ editors-in-chief and media innovators from over 70 countries. News organisations of all sizes, and across all platforms, share exclusive insights and best practices during this three-day event, making it a real opportunity to network with editors, publishers, and journalists.
Join one of the following teams this June:
- Registration desk: welcoming participants and helping them during the three days;
- Exhibition, VR studio, and worskhops: working with suppliers, assisting GEN staff in dealing with clients, managing attendance for workshops, and general duties related to business development;
- Main stage hall: welcoming speakers, and assisting in audio/visual tasks during all sessions;
- Media hackathon: welcoming data journalists, developers and designers and assisting in a variety of ground duties. The hackathon will take place at Labstelle and not at the Summit venue.
You will also help out during the evening social and networking events, which will take place for three consecutive evenings at MAK on 21.06, Hofburg on 22.06 and Platzhirsch on 23.06. You won’t be required to stay past 10pm.
Send your application to Ewa Kobald: firstname.lastname@example.org
All fees – registration for the conference, meals and social events – are paid for by GEN; from Wednesday’s lunch to Friday’s last cocktail. However, no per diems or reimbursements will be provided.
