Evgenii Dainov (I958, Plovdiv) is a Bulgarian academic, author, and political commentator. He teaches Political Science at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia and publishes comments in both international and Bulgarian media.
Dainov is a founding member of the Green Movement political party in Bulgaria and has been a civic and environmental activist since the second half of the 1980s.
The Bulgarian version of his latest book Spirit of the Age: How Did We Get from Love Me Do to Donald Trump is due to be published in October 2020, while the English translation is expected in spring 2021.
He graduated in Modern History at Oxford (Corpus Christi College) where he later taught, as well. Daniov followed specialisation courses in Moscow, Paris, and Vienna. He holds a Honorary Doctor Degree from the Economic Institute Plekhanov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan).
Dainov plays guitar and composes songs for rock bands: the third album of his current band Magistri is expected by the end of 2020.
