José Alberto García Avilés is Journalism professor and head of the Journalism Section at the Miguel Hernández University (Elche, Spain), where he lectures in Communication Theory, Broadcast News and Media Structure.
He lectures in the International Media Innovation Management Program and in the Master Program in Journalism Innovation. He is the director of the Doctoral Programme “New Journalistic Models” and has published over 50 papers and books on journalism and communication. He has been researching media convergence and journalism innovation since 2002.
