Sandra Borda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Los Andes.
She has served as High Councilor for International Relations of Bogotá and was one of the seven members of the Foreign Policy Mission convened by the national government, which met between 2009 and 2010. She has been a visiting researcher at ITAM in Mexico, the University of Toronto in Canada, the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and a visiting professor at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
She is a columnist for the newspaper El Tiempo, Revista Cambio, and Revista Arcadia.
Her research focuses on Colombian internal politics and international affairs. Her published books inclde the following titles:
"Parar para avanzar: Crónica del movimiento estudiantil que paralizó a Colombia" (Stop to Advance: Chronicle of the Student Movement that Paralyzed Colombia) and "¿Por qué somos tan parroquiales? Breve historia de la política exterior colombiana" (Why Are We So Paroquial? A Brief History of Colombian Foreign Policy), "La internacionalización del conflicto armado colombiano durante las administraciones Pastrana y Uribe" (The Internationalization of the Colombian Armed Conflict During the Pastrana and Uribe Administrations).
She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, a Master's in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, a Master's in International Relations from the University of Chicago, and a degree in Political Science from the University of Los Andes.
