Wolfgang Petritsch is President of the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (oiip) and President of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation.
A retired career diplomat, Petritsch served as the European Union’s Special Envoy for Kosovo from 1998 to 1999 and as the EU’s chief negotiator at the Kosovo peace talks in Rambouillet and Paris in 1999. He subsequently served as High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1999 to 2002.
He was Austria’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva from 2002 to 2008 and Austria’s ambassador to the OECD in Paris from 2008 to 2013. From 2013 to 2014, he was the Joseph A. Schumpeter Fellow at Harvard University.
