Colonel Dr. Markus Reisner is a General Staff officer serving in the Austrian Armed Forces. He is the Superintendent of the institute for officer training at Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt and author of books and articles on military history and the future of war. He served in the Jagdkommando, the Special Operations Forces unit of the Austrian Armed Forces and was deployed in different conflict zones. He spent significant time in the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq, Chad, Central Africa, and Mali.

Background
The war in Ukraine continues unabated after four years of fighting. However, since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, on 22 February 2022, military situation on the ground and international geopolitical alliances have undergone radical changes.
Col. Reisner will focus on explaining the current military situation in Ukraine as well as the changes within NATO, including the nature of its dependence on the US support.
Col. Reisner is a regular military analyst in Austrian, German, Swiss and other international mainstream media. However, due to the complexity of the topics he addresses, many questions remain in the air.
fjum event provides an opportunity to engage in a dialogue and ask questions.
