Aleksandrina was a senior analyst at the Dossier Center (Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s project), chief editor of the anti-corruption project, and correspondent at The New Times magazine. In 2018 was closed after publishing a piece about undeclared real estate of FSB director Alexander Bortnikov.

In March 2016 Aleksandrina and a group of journalists investigated allegations of torture at the police stations in Chechnya. On the border of Ingushetia and Chechnya, the bus with the journalists and human rights advocates was attacked: the vehicle was burnt down, and the journalists beaten.
