András Schweitzer is a senior lecturer at the Institute of Political and International Studies of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. His research fields focus on contemporary political history and history of political ideas, with emphasis on East and Central Europe. Schweitzer worked for 15 years as a writer and an editor for HVG, Hungary’s leading political-financial-cultural weekly. He also did academic research for the 1956 Institute in Budapest. In addition to writing for Hungarian media, Schweitzer has published in Hungarian Spectrum and The Guardian, as well as in numerous scholarly outlets. Schweitzer has a PhD in International Relations from Corvinus University of Budapest.
