Francesca de Benedetti
Francesca De Benedetti (37) is an Italian journalist working for the recently founded Domani digital and print daily. She covers European politics and manages foreign desk.
Prior to joining Domani, she worked for seven years for Italy’s leading newspaper La Repubblica, contributing to both digital (Repubblica.it, Repubblica TV) and print edition, and covering European policies, international trade and tech in particular.
In 2019, she covered Italian politics during the government crisis for the TV Channel La7. As a columnist for the MicroMega cultural magazine, she commented on European politics, international trade, inequalities, feminism, gender gap.
De Benedetti was the international winner of the journalistic prize „Re-collecting Europe 2019“ promoted by the Goethe-Institut London; the grant was intended to finance a one-month journey through the UK to examine the impact of Brexit on civil society. Her reportages were published in La Repubblica.
The Rome based journalist studied International Relations and Semiotics at the University of Bologna, As a student, she won a research grant to study at Sciences Po (Paris), and she also did research for the European Journalism Observatory.
