Mirjana Tomić develops, moderates and manages fjum_information sessions on international current affairs. She also conducts International News Literacy workshops for the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Austria´s public broadcaster ORF.
As a correspondent for the Spanish daily El País, Mirjana covered the wars in former Yugoslavia, the fall of Communist regimes in Romania and Albania, as well as armed conflicts in Mexico. She also collaborated with the BBC-Latin American Service and Radio Svizzera di Lingua Italiana, and was published in La Repubblica, the International Herald Tribune (now the International New York Times), El Mundo, and Foreign Policy.
Further, her professional experience encompasses media relations for a UN agency; media research for the Vienna-based International Press Institute, as well as political analyses for Spanish and Italian policy institutes; and university lecturing in Spain, Italy and Germany.
Mirjana holds a BA degree in Political Science (Brandeis University, US); a degree in International Relations (The Johns Hopkins University, SAIS, Bologna, Italy) and an MA in Political Science (El Colegio de México, Mexico City, Mexico). She has lived in seven countries and speaks six languages.
