Steven Forti

Steven Forti, Lecturer in Contemporary History in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and researcher at the Instituto de História Contemporânea of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Forti specialises in political history and political thought of Europe during the 20th and 21st centuries.

His recent book titles include:  El proceso separatista en Cataluña. Análisis de un pasado reciente (2006-2017) (with Arnau González i Vilalta and Enric Ucelay-Da Cal [eds.], Granada, 2017); Ada Colau, la città in comune. Da occupante di case a sindaca di Barcellona (with Giacomo Russo Spena, Roma, 2016); El peso de la nación. Nicola Bombacci, Paul Marion y Óscar Pérez Solís en la Europa de entreguerras (Santiago de Compostela, 2014). He also published more than thirty chapters and articles in books and scientific journals about the contemporary history of Spain, Catalonia, Italy and France.

Forti is a member of the editorial boards of Spagna Contemporanea and Atlántica XXII as well as of different research groups, such as the Centre d’Estudis sobre les Époques Franquista i Democràtica (CEFID), the Seminario Interuniversitario de Investigadores del Fascismo (SIdIF), the European Network on Theory and Practice of Biography (ENTPB) and the Rede Internacional de Estudo do Corporativismo e da Organização de Interesses (NETCOR).

As a political analyst and commentator, he collaborates with several TV and radio broadcasters-RAI, Radio Rai, Sky Tg24, Radio della Svizzera Italiana, Radio Popolare, etc-as well as with newspapers and magazines in Italy, Spain and Greece, such as MicroMega, Limes, Left, Atlántica XXII, Epohi, etc.
